KUALA LUMPUR: The woman behind the hit song Janji Manismu and evergreen Hari Raya number Pulanglah is happily on the road to becoming slimmer and trimmer.
Singer Aishah Ariffin has announced on Instagram that she has lost 21 kilograms following the bariatric surgery she had four months ago.
And this procedure has helped her reduce her waist size by 127 centimetres (50 inches).
“Thank God things are looking good for me. What’s most important is I feel healthier and happier. I want to thank my doctor, Mustafa, for a job well done and my friends such as Chef Zam for encouraging me all the way.
“To all my fans, I love you and thank you for being there for me, regardless of my size – I’ve got 19 kilos to lose!”
Aishah’s post yesterday had her flashing a generous smile while showing off her slimmer figure.
Netizens congratulated her, and many said they would make an effort to lose weight, too.
“You’re really trim and firm now Kak! Congrats! May God bless you with good health always,” said Masayu.
“Keep up the great work Kak! God bless!””said Fieza.
“Beautiful, Aishah! It’s great to see the new you,” said Hafiz.
Aishah, who hails from Bahau, Negri Sembilan, found fame as the lead singer of pop group Aishah And The Fan Club in New Zealand in the early 1980s.
She has since released 11 studio albums.
The singer won reality show Gegar Vaganza on Astro Ria last year.
In 2013, Aishah contested unsuccessfully in the 13th general election as a candidate of Parti Islam SeMalaysia (Pas) for the Jempol Parliamentary seat.
